Editorial & Corrections Policy

This policy explains how CarsInformation.in researches, labels, updates and corrects automotive content for readers in India.

Source standards

We give priority to primary sources, including vehicle manufacturers, official brochures and manuals, government and regulatory bodies, and recognised vehicle-safety assessment organisations. Secondary publications or videos may be used for context and reported driving impressions, but important claims should be attributed.

Confirmed, claimed and expected information

Manufacturer figures are described as claimed or certified where appropriate. Information about an unreleased vehicle is labelled as expected, reported, rumoured or unconfirmed until supported by an official announcement. Prices are normally ex-showroom unless an article clearly says otherwise, and they may vary by city, variant and date.

Road tests and first-hand experience

We do not claim that CarsInformation independently tested a vehicle unless the article identifies the tester and provides relevant test conditions. If figures or impressions come from another publisher’s video or report, the article should attribute that source. Older articles that do not meet this standard are being reviewed and corrected.

Comparisons and recommendations

Buying recommendations consider stated needs such as budget, space, safety equipment, efficiency and intended use. Words such as “best” are not treated as universal facts; suitability depends on the buyer and should be supported by clear selection criteria.

Updates and corrections

Specifications, prices, variants and availability can change after publication. Readers should verify time-sensitive details on the manufacturer’s website or with an authorised dealer. To request a correction, use our Contact Us page and include the article URL, the disputed statement and a reliable supporting source.

Commercial transparency

Sponsored material, supplied vehicles or affiliate relationships, if applicable, should be disclosed on the relevant page. Editorial statements should not be presented as independent testing when they are based only on promotional material.
